The die is thrown once. What is the probability of getting     

(i) A?      (ii) D?

 

Solution:

The die has 6 faces, and the faces show the letters: A, B, C, D, E, A. So, the total number of possible outcomes is 6.

 

(i) Probability of getting A:

There are 2 faces with A out of the 6 faces (since A appears twice).

The probability of getting A is:

 

(ii) Probability of getting D:

There is 1 face with D out of the 6 faces.
